“If ‘if’s’ and ‘ands’ were pots and pans, there’d be no need for tinkers”

Best cartoon ever was by B. C. The character soldiers his way to the mountain top to inquire of the ‘wise man’ …”What’s life all about?”

“The answer is in the question, my son,” was his reply.

Next frame, our seeker has returned to sea level and as he gazes at the horizon, his thought bubble reads, “That’s it…life is all about!

Nice. Someone worded it so : You are the Universe's attempt to experience itself.

The church gave us priesthood's esoteric rites designed for ascetic monks, not laymen. Painfully boring experience for a child, but useful for meditation/discipline in retrospect. I had the Anglican version too and fought my way out around 15... couldn't bring myself to inflict it on my own children but they're getting all the answers to the questions they haven't asked instead. :)

Religious currency built the material world - priests oversaw the god's faces on the coins at the temple. There's a funny wiki entry about shopping for religion as a consumer seeking a brand they trust, also religious economy and even divine economy... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Salvation

It suggests (without saying that) banks, pharma, media, government, law etc. are all part of the "divine plan".

"They worship the Universe itself."

Just the One infinite Verse for all eternity.

Thank you for the definition of Logos as "Divine Reason."

Lots of people trying to argue against the Logos these days... soon enough, they'll have to wear themselves out. Time is on God's side.

'Into The Garden of Eden GOD introduced Guilt into hoomin relationships.'

(Capitalism's emotional economy can be traced all the way back to The Garden of Eden.)

This article shook me to the core. The multiverse now seems absurd. I need a whole new metaphysics. This is terrifying! Why am I smiling?

I think that was my reaction, too, when the penny finally dropped. Great comment, I hope you don't mind me restacking it.

Some years ago a young person of my and my darling's acquaintance asked us, in a flurry of youthful struggle and frustration, "What is the meaning of existence?"

My darling (the professional domesticated-electron wrangler) replied, "Charge separation."

Admittedly that was me being quoted there, but I still laugh and weep and embrace that moment. It is as close to "God" as I ever felt I got, except for a couple personal encounters with lightning. (Which may account for why I'm obsessed with things like charge separation and its breakdown.)

There was also that time maybe 20 years ago my darling defined God as "the smartest kid in forever, trapped forever in a box exactly His size." I was gob-smacked by that...and suddenly realized why charge separation was such an enormous cosmic deal.

One little invention...resonating ringing shining vibrating playing out in all directions.

Logos...the little cosmic Maker. One little invention.

I give thanks that He has the patience not to load us with more, faster!

Simultaneously the dryest and most profound answer to that question I’ve ever heard!
